Diploma in Environmental Services

Overview

This Diploma will equip learners with the technical skills and competencies to manage and improve efficiency in the Environmental Services business operations to achieve the organization's strategic plans and goals.

Note:
Each of it learning units (Modules) is mapped to the WSQ L4 Diploma in Environmental Services Framework, which is eligible for funding subject to:

1. Candidates must attain more than 75% attendance and successfully pass the Final Assessment of the selected learning units (Modules) for which funding has been sought from SSG.
2. Government funding is applicable to Singaporeans and Permanent Residents only and is subject to final approval by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Modules

1. Improve Environmental Management System ($578 + 9% GST = $630.02, before funding)

This learning unit will equip learners with the technical skills and competencies to develop an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) framework that helps the organisation to comply with the environmental legislations and regulations, and to maintain environmental safety at the workplace.

2. Improve Operational Effectiveness ($578 + 9% GST = $630.02, before funding)

This learning unit will equip learners with the technical skills and competencies to develop organisational effectiveness processes to support improvement strategies.

3. Improve Process Optimisation ($578 + 9% GST = $630.02, before funding)

This learning unit will equip learners with the technical skills and competencies in analysing and developing, reviewing of plans for process improvement and optimisation.

4. Manage Customers ($578 + 9% GST = $630.02, before funding)
(TGS-2018504746, Funding Validity Period: 01 Feb 2019 to 22 Nov 2024)

This learning unit will equip learners on how to integrate the Customer Relationship Management systems within the organisation to manage customer needs and expectations, to maintain and improve relationships with the customers for sustainable long-term businesses.

5. Manage Finance ($578 + 9% GST = $630.02, before funding)

This learning unit will equip learners with the technical skills and competencies in facilitating the management of the organisation’s financial performance and impacts.

6. Manage Resources ($578 + 9% GST = $630.02, before funding)

This learning unit will equip learners with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to develop resource allocation plans, and the related strategies and policies to ensure optimal use of resources.

7. Automate for Productivity ($376 + 9% GST = $409.84, before funding)
(TGS-2019501631, Funding Validity Period: 16 Feb 2019 to 15 Feb 2025)

This learning unit will equip learners with the technical skills and competencies to automate manual intensive processes to improve efficiency and increase productivity to enable the organisation to achieve its strategic plans and goals.

Who Should Attend?

• Executives and managers from the Cleaning Operations, Waste Collection, Materials Recovery, and Treatment and Disposal sectors who are currently in a supervisory or team management role or aspiring to that role.
• Individuals who are at the stage of mid-life career shift and are required to upskill their competencies to remain employed.
• Senior workers who are already working in the environment cleaning sector and would like to upgrade their skills for career advancement to the supervisory level.
• Employees who have been identified by their employers to upskill their competencies level to support their job roles at the workplace.
• Senior workers in the environment cleaning sector who have attained the Level 3 certification from SSG and are pursuing a diploma that they were not given the chance to pursue previously.

Entry Requirement

• 21 years old
• Obtained at least a pass in English GCE “O” Level, or
• A pass in ASCENSUS INSTITUTE’s English Literacy Test with a minimum grade of 60%.

Normal Entry:
• Completed NITEC, or
• Higher NITEC, or
• At least 1 pass with a minimum C6 for GCE ‘O’ Level

Alternative Entry for applicants who do not possess the above Minimum Academic Requirement:
Applicants with the minimum age of 30 with a minimum of 5 years working experience, may be considered for entry into this course.

Graduation Requirement and Award

Successfully completion of all the 7 learning units (modules) with competency.

Possible Progression

Upon successful completion of the course, learners (students) may progress into an Advanced Diploma in the Environmental Services course, subject to meeting the entry requirements of the school.
